As you can see, the house has has been prepared for stucco. Shingling is underway and should be completed today. We are also hoping to see sheetrock hung next week. Hurray!

It's a roof

Well it was quite a weekend - lots of rain and a little snow. We spent some time on Saturday sweeping water out of the house. As of today, the decking is on the roof and we are getting closer to being dried in. I have been told the pictures do not do the house justice. That means you will have to come by and visit.

We had an awesome week of weather and a significant amount was accomplished on the house. As you can see, both the exterior and interior walls have been framed up. The front porch area was also poured today.

As promised we saw concrete and additional walls Today. The garage was poured and the exterior walls are totally framed up. Very Cool!!!

Pics from Saturday and Monday

Well, it is hard to believe this is really happening. The decking is on and our contractor, Jerry McKee is doing such an awesome job! The driveway, front porch and back patio have been framed in today and the concrete will be poured on Wednesday! We got to design and pick out our kitchen on Saturday-it was both challenging and fun! We're keeping you posted!

All Decked Out

We know-- it's been a day since we took pictures. We're just a couple of slackers. It is Friday, October 30 (only the 6th day of work) and we are seeing floor joices and sub-flooring installed. As you will notice in the background, we are also seeing blue skies which is a pleasant change from the past couple of snowy days in Bloomfield.

It looks like the garage will be poured and some walls will go up next week.

A Beautiful Monday in Bloomfield

Well, it is Monday and only day three (not counting the weekend) of our new house project. We are very excited to see the stem walls going up. Picking out doors and windows is a challenge for me. So, Craig has to pick the house color around a red front door. One of my favorite colors. Craig is having a blast and this is all still surreal to me. We will keep you posted on all the progress. We may not take pictures every single day of the project -- perhaps only six days a week. It was a beautiful Saturday in Bloomfield, NM. I know what you're thinking and don't worry, we do not have keys to this equipment. Come visit and we will show you around.

Wow! It's DAY TWO ... how time flies. Meredith, here is a picture of your mama standing on our land. For everyone else, picutres 2 - 5 were taken today. There has been a bunch accomplished in 2 days. Jerry and the guys at Desert Sun Construction are doing a great job.
